Whitelist BIOS

Hello to all. I was gifted an ibm z60t. Still working and running windows 7. It has a usb wireless adapter instead of the internal wifi card. But this usb adapter has really lossy range. Im hoping to install an internal card for better range. I know a modified bios exists but none of the links are active. They either come up unable to find link or file has been deleted. Does anyone have this bios saved somewhere. Thanks in advance.

[SOLVED] ASUS PP-DLW and Gallatin Xeon MP 3.0 4MB SL79V

Hi All,

just registered and asking for help.

I'm building a retro rig, with dual Xeon MP SL79V (I just like the idea to run these 4MB L3 cache mammoths for year 1998-2005 games). The motherboard is ASUS PP-DLW. BIOS is AMI. Motherboard runs these CPUs, but only at 800 Mhz.
The latest BIOS can be downloaded here:
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/Sock...DLW029.zip

Possible donor BIOS could be Supermicro X5DPE-G2,
https://www.supermicro.com/about/policie...eItemID=28
it runs these CPUs flawlessly.

Thank you

Hi Bios-Modders,

I actually tried for 2 weeks to modify and flash this BIOS:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/sel...b-182832-1

I need the new microcode for CPUID 306C3 which should be version 24.
"cpu306C3_plat32_ver00000024_2018-01-21_PRD_FCD4700E.bin"

No Tools will work and if I try to edit the .bin file by replacing the hex parts and start the flashing process by holding power + win + b (for 5 sek, then unleash power) I only get a black screen. If i try this will the original BIOS there no Problem and the flash process will begin...

I also asked HP but they say that have to discuss whether its updated or not..

Can anyone help me?

best regards

NOTE:  This is _NOT_ a request for BIOS unlock.

Hi BDMaster,

I need your help. I spent a couple weeks reading bios-mods.com and yourdigitallife.com forums to understand about BIOS modding and different tools that available. And now I believe that I am somewhere close to the solution, but feel like I hit a wall and need an advice from an expert like you.

I have Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen3 (20BT). It has installed BIOS version 1.13 which is available for download from here:  https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/n14uj12w.exe

Basically my task is to be able to rollback from the current BIOS version (1.13) to an older one.
I found several Lenovo BIOS downgrade procedures. Tested on my other Lenovo laptop and confirmed that I can downgrade the Lenovo BIOS if "Secure Rollback Prevention" option is DISABLED in BIOS.

But the problem is that the X1 Carbon laptop that I need to downgrade has "Secure Rollback Prevention" function enabled and the BIOS is locked.
I have no Supervisor password. In other word, I can't downgrade BIOS programmatically without being able to disable that Rollback Prevention (I know that the hardware programmer would be the most optimal solution, but unfortunately I am not allowed to dissasemble that computer).

Reading through the forums, I learned that there is an option to temporary modify some BIOS settings by finding a proper region, offset and value. In one of your threads I found about Falseclock method:
https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...-EFI-shell

Unfortunately (for me), I believe that Falseclock's method actually looks and modifies variable in "Setup" module, while my UEFITool investigation shows that the "Secure Rollback Prevention" option for my Lenovo BIOS located at 0xA29A in "LenovoSetupSecurityDxe" module (see below).
Do you think that Falseclock EFI shell can be modified somehow to work in my case? (His current EFI Shell tool is not working for me... I have tried... it just errors and gets me in to the Grub command line. Again, I believe it is because we are looking at two different modules).

How would you approach this problem, BDMaster?

Motherboard Manufacturer and Model: Lenovo X1 1291A11
Bios Revision: 1.72 - 19 Mar 2018
Bios Type: Award

Hello I'm hoping for an wireless whitelist removal for a fairly uncommon laptop.  I've been browsing around for the protocol to follow here so I could provide something useful to start with but many BIOS extraction tool links I see are dead.  I've run SLIC Toolkit to determine which BIOS type it is, which is Award.

One problem I'm seeing is that Lenovos BIOS updates are either packed into an exe or an oddly formatted iso so I'm not sure how to get the ROM or how to flash a modified one after.

Here is the exe version: https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/8muj20us.exe
Here is the iso version: https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/8muj20us.iso

Here is the screenshot from the SLIC Toolkit:

I'm subbed to this thread and will respond ASAP with anything needed to assist the process, thanks!

Here is the link to the bios
https://support.hp.com/nz-en/drivers/sel...es/4041735
Im running windows 10 on it and need to change the controller from ide to sata for a new ssd

Here is a link to the closest i got to finding it (older than 4 years) most of the threads around this bios
https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...164SL-F-13

Although this is for a HP DV6 2164SL not a dv6 2110ax like my lappy is

(I searched pretty hard and couldnt find a link that either was dead or the website doesnt exsist anymore...)

I also tried searching how to mod it myself but looks a bit like id brick my computer...

Thanks guys.

Insyde h20 - new Lenovo Ideapad 100-15IBD logo

Hi!
I have Lenovo Ideapad 100-15IBD with Insyde H20 BIOS.
In public I found only 2 flasing utils: InsydeFlash v5.3.8.0 from very old E0CN23WW BIOS, and H2OFFT-W v5.5.8.1 from new E0CN61WW BIOS.
All FD files from E0CN23WW and E0CN61WW  have 9,63 МБ (10 105 280 byte) size and open in InsydeH2OEZE_x86_WIN_100.00.02.13, but in section "Logo" - I can't see any logo and can't make nothing.
But after modifying platform.ini I somehow create dump my current BIOS: E0CN63WW with "good" size - 8,00 МБ (8 388 608 byte). And this file is good opened in EZE, in section "Logo" is 4 logo with last "Burning Lenovo" it TGA format, that in EZE I can change it very simple.
But I can't write my new FD file in BIOS chip, H2OFFT-W gives message: "It only supports to flash secure BIOS..."
OK. I blew off BIOS chip (Winbond w25q64fv), read old and write my moded file.
But dump, that I read from chip is not opened in EZE and notebook is not started with new firmware.

My question: how I can "translate" FD file that I make in EZE to "hardware" chip format? It is possible?

In attachments: BIN file - I read from chip, FD file - e0cn61ww.fd (original), e0cn63ww.fd (I somehow create Smile ) e0cn63ww-nissan-logo.fd (with my new logo for my CarPC)

Hey guys!
I could really need some help. I have a ProBook 6360b and I would like to install an Intel 7260 HMW BN, as my old wifi module doesn't work properly.. I already tried taping pins #51 and #20 of the card in order to pass the whitelist, but without success.
I attached my F.42 bios, any chances that the whitelist can be turned off?
