Hi the motherboard in the prebuilt is a locked P8H77-M PRO and i'd like some tweaking options if possible, i've attached the bios in backup .ROM form and the original .CAP one

WiFi Whitelist Removal for HP Pavilion DV4-2145dx [Request]

I am heading back to university with an old Pavilion DV4 2145dx laptop and I was trying to install a Intel 7260 Wireless-AC card. This laptop does not support the card and refuses to boot with it installed. I am requesting a method to remove this whitelist if possible.

I wonder if anyone have tried to run coreboot on any of these laptops, I run Linux on my G470 laptop but i don't know if coreboot could brick the old lap, it's still my main laptop so i don't want to blew it.

Lenovo ThinkPad X250 virtualization

Hi there,

I bought a ThinkPad X250 used with the Supervisor password activated. I managed to do a LCD whitelist mod using the X1 carbon modules and the EDID of my new panel but now I would like to activate virtualization in BIOS but I cant access it since it is locked. I wondered is the a way to change this setting or make it default as on.

Latest Lenovo T420/T520/X220/W520 Whitelist Removal "Procedure?"

I'm trying to figure out what is searched for and modified in order to fully disable the whitelist in Lenovo Sandy Bridge laptops such as the T420/T520/X220/W520. There are older BIOSes that work, but it would be nice to know how to modify current and possible future BIOSes for these platforms.

It's already possible, Oleh (who isn't well regarded here) managed to roll what I think is public knowledge to remove the whitelists in these laptops:

But I'm not really wanting all of these other modifications, I just want the whitelist disabled - and some idea of how to do it in the following:

The driver utilities above also have multiple BIOS images in them as well, for I presume different versions such as Intel/Nvidia GPUs, and so forth. Being able to know what to look for and "patch" would also allow all of these separate images to be modified as well.

My assumption is that by "whitelist removal," this means that the check is totally disabled allowing any ID for Wifi card to be installed, no need to add in specific card device IDs.

I need to do some tuning of RAM and Graphics Card in the BIOS.
But it's locked (no access to advanced settings).
How to unlock advanced BIOS settings?

Is it possible to bring NVRAM back? The mainboard initially had NVRAM implemented, but since BIOS version F20 it's gone. And is it possible to unlock OC features like setting multiplier for the CPU?

Two modification requests:

Easy?: Unhide/Unlock any hidden menu's/options (Someone had done one for the NON 3.1 firmware elsewhere, seems to have been a bit that was hidden, wanted to see if anything was there for the +3.1)

Hard!: I have 2 systems, one with an FX8350 one with an FX9590
Details: At launch, 9k series where listed as supported!, after the first BIOS update, the BIOS gave warning, the next it stopped working at all said go puck yourself.
Now, I don't plan to overclock, but I am pissed I have to use OG/Release v1.00 firmware which kills NVMe support on the system with my FX9590 (support/reseller gave no [censored] about initial launch documentation as its "subject to change").
I realize that board "isn't equipped" to handle the 220w CPUs's but it DID Support and it DOES work, almost 2 years now even, STILL ZERO ISSUES WITH RUNNING THE FX9590! (stress test's galore done as well)

Linked are all the firmware release's from ASRock, maybe someone can figure out how to pull out that damned BLACKLIST... I am even ok if a modder wants to keep the WARNING message in, thats fine, I would prefer that just to cover anyone else who uses this and blows their rig up when they try to overclock

I also used UBU on the v1.30 rom to update the AMD AHCI and RAID modules if you would prefer to mod that one instead I can send it to you.


I have paid out bounty's beforehand, I am even mentioned on one of those BIOS modder's blog (now closed to public including me Sad) as someone who has paid!
Payment amount is variable, but was usually between $20-80 depending on difficulty.

Which seems pretty simple, but it's a different laptop and I didn't want to risk changing a hex value and bricking cuz they controlled different things or something.

So, I have a few questions

1. Can I use that tutorial to edit the bios using ghex in the linked youtube video?
2. Do I need to update my bios to uses any of these mods?
3. Are there any mods already working for this model laptop and bios version?

I'm going to be a little patient with this one because I cant find crap info for this model.

If you happen to see a working tutorial for the bios version I have, that will be cool too.

Hello.



I need to access the advanced options in my bios to unlock amd-v for my Asus Aspire 553g-f55f.
It has a fx-9800p processor and M445dx (dual graphics) so a dedicated crossfire with a integrated graphics setup.

I noticed my particular laptop model is not in the bios repository.

I was going to try this Video Tutorial for a different acer https://youtu.be/fzuuE0tz6bY,

Hello! I recently acquired a Lenovo T440P, and would appreciate if someone could help me get the WLAN whitelist removed, as well as the Advanced Menu and MSR 0xE2 unlocked. I used a CH341A to dump the BIOS, which is at the latest 2.44 version.
