Entering the Bios Mod World - Need Help Recovering [ T440s ] :)

Hello everyone, this is my first post, and thanks to my failed bios update, I found this frickin amazing site!

This kind of stuff gets me excited, ready to learn what it is all about

Before I move further and dive deep, 

I need a little help recovering my T440s corrupted bios

So far I have followed the steps & used the Phoenix/WINCRIS tool on my FAT formatted 4gb flash drive

I have attempted to pull the bios file which seemed to be the "[0]" file that is 6,019 KB from here:

I am not sure which one it is, maybe someone can help verify

Plug in the USB, tried with and without battery with pluged AC

Tried Fn+B, Win+B, Fn+R while holding down the power button

So far no results, all I get with or without holding the buttons is some hissing noise coming from the speakers

Also note that when I power it on regularly it only flashes the keyboard black lights once, and the fan does not spin, on hissing noise from the speakers
I got 2 choices, learn something new and recover it with your help or order one of those programmed bios chips from ebay

I would really appreciate the help, and plan to eventually pass on the knowledge to others on this  forum

I have an Acer Aspire V5-552PG with AMD A10 5757M, i like to have the advance tab so i can access AMD-V feature and enable it. Appreciate it if anyone can provided me a mod bios with advance option unlock. Also provide me the step to flash the bios. Sorry I am new to this.

Hello! I need to unlock the bios for the advanced menu & overclocking.
In fact I can open the advanced menu while press A button after entering the bios. But there is no option to change the CPU multiplayer which is set by default to x18 1.8GHz and I need to be set to  x24  2.4GHz the max of the CPU.

Locked BIOS (unknown supervisor pass), ACER Aspire ES1-131 with InsydeH20 BIOS

Hello, a friend of mine brought me an ACER Aspire ES1-131 (N15Q3) a few days ago where some supervisor password was set and then incorrectly typed in three times, so the option to try again is grayed out. I don't know the context, but I suspect drunk user or a prank gone too far, I wouldn't know. I tried learning what to do with Google, but the issue is too complex for me.

Is there a way to make it unlocked again, either myself or by finding someone who can do it better, or has specific hardware? The computer is still on warranty, so taking it apart and removing the battery is something I would like to avoid (plus I've read it won't help at all with this computer). Also, if I told them what happened the warranty would probably go void. I didn't supply any pictures or extra data, because it is an unorthodox case and I don't know what would be helpful.

The computer has boot order set to USB first, then HDD, if that helps, but has trouble seeing the pendrive most of the times.

I know some things about computers, but mostly what happens after the BIOS loads, so please treat me as someone who doesn't know how to turn on the computer should you be willing to help :-). I can access BIOS using https://bios-pw.org/ , but that's about all I know how to do.

EDIT: Sorry if it's posted in a wrong spot, I thought it would be most fitting for my case.

Hi Again, I was wondering if my bios could be unlocked. It seems interesting to overclock or just see the advanced features on this computer.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro (Model 20266) running BIOS Version 76CN43WW.

I purchased a recommended card online from Amazon, due to me being in South Africa it cost me a pretty penny to import. Importing another card is risky since it might also not work. The details of the card is below.

[REQUEST] DELL INSPIRON 3147 Whitelist Removal / INTEL N 7260 OR BIOS PROBLEM?

Hello,

I would like to ask for help, because I've tried everything with my wifi card, googled what i could have googled,  I installed sevral drivers (all resulted code 10). Tried to change EEPROM of my Intel wifi card (to switch (1)VEN and (2)SUBSYS values  (1) b2=>b1; (2) c2=>c4) and I couldn't manage to do so (EEPROM operation not supported or something like that even to read, not to say read&write). 

I thought that bios\efi may be good point to make this card work - here I was stuck on trying to do the dump, the current (DELL Insyde A10 BIOS\EFI) to possibly when something goes wrong, to restore the previous bios.

I found the file testback.exe on forum and did some dump, it came with an error 201. I kept the file result.rar I do not know if it;s correct. Tried to open it with winhex... no luck. And ealier I tried to extract update file (3147A10) and came with some files, but it doesn't look like correct one (fd, rom, bin etc.) When trying to reflashing bios it created some temp files, i compared files with those i extracted with 7z, it was additional bin file, but it seems to be  flash utility (isflash.bin).

My problem is that to run the card Intel Wireless-N 7260 on a laptop DELL Inspiron 3147th From what I realized after the purchase, the card comes with Lenovo and doesn't work with other manufactures (vendors?).

I assume that the problem is caused by the whitelist, because the card works on Ubuntu 16.04 and Windows 10 comes with error 10 and installing different drivers doesnt change anything (I tried on wins 8, 8.1 since my laptop can run win8 and newer)

Would anyone like to help me to make this card start on windows?
1. Any idea , Bios-mod or  eeprom mod...?
2. Whitelist removal or addition of PCI VEN subsys REV to my  BIOS/EFI or something?
3. Does DELL have the whitelist?


My OEM card is:
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_020E1028&REV_01
The card i want to work on my computer is:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B2&SUBSYS_C2628086&REV_C3

Dear mods expert..
I want to upgrade my old laptop, then i ordered an intel core i5-3230M(SR0WY) since its compatible to mine... But it happen the seller doesnt know about how to check CPU name and jst sent it to me.. now this the 2nd time they got the wrong item.
the last item they send was intel core i7-3520M(SR0MT), and i cant use it even it was higher specs because the whitelist on bios. i really dont have any exp on modding bios, since its too complicated. since it was the same generation and same socket. i wanna try to ask bios mod expert to add 
Intel core i7-3520M so its compatible and run on my laptop. here some link for the info...

Hello,
my Workhorse Lenovo Edge E535 loses WIFI Connection on a regularly basis, so I searched in Thinkpad forums for a solution, but it seems that the problem may be caused by the WiFi card. So I ordered a new Intel Wireless Dual Band AC 7620. Unfortunately I run into the Lenovo whitelist problem.
I'd like to request WLAN whitelist removal and add advanced option for the Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E535, Machine Type Model: 32607AG. This Community seems to be the best bios modders.
CPU: AMD A6-4400M APU with Radeon Graphics

[Request] Lenovo Z510 Whitelist Removal (I can bypass the secure flash)

Hi, I want to remove the whitelist in my Lenovo Z510 bios. Using Falseclock method but with the modified grub shell from here https://geektimes.ru/post/258090/ (this version fix some bugs in falseclock's grub shell), I was able to flash a modified bios using fptw64.
But because I am not familiar with assembly language, I can't figure out which bytes to change. So I hope some genius can help me. Thanks in advance. 

(because I don't know the subsystem id of my new card, I need to remove the whitelist completely but not just replace some id in the whitelist)

Hello,

Can someone add AHCI to my BIOS?
The chipset is a NVIDIA Nforce 630a and should be fully supporting AHCI,
but in my BIOS settings, there is only IDE and RAID.
