Hi guys,

Im having this annoying coil whine from my motherboard I did various of tests and I nailed it to the Vcore of the CPU when my notebook is ideling the Vcore is dynamic and when the V changes it doing the buzzing sound , so the notebook is under gurantee but they didnt fix it first time ... So I need to unlock my bios and set a manual Vcore.

My notebook is Acer Aspire VN7-792G, the bios versions says its 1.08 but rev 5.0. Is this possible to do it ?

Thanks Smile

[OFFER] Acer Aspire E5-572G Modded Bios

Hello,

I want to share the modded Bios I created for the Acer Aspire E5-572G notebook.
The official bios 1.09 was used as a base.
I'm offering three flavours: Microcode 01, Microcode 07 and Microcode 21.
Microcode 21 is the latest available microcode, this is the Bios you want to use unless you want the special properties of the other microcodes.
Microcode 07 is the latest microcode that allows using the full turbo clock speed on all cores (using single core turbo with all cores).
Microcode 01 is the one you should take if you want to try this. I wasn't able to get it to work on mine (i5 4210m, HM86), but your mileage may vary.
In case you want to always use an older microcode, I'm offering a script for windows that'll keep the OS from using a newer microcode (compatible with Windows Vista to Windows 10). Frequency and other things can be set up with ThrottleStop (use the latest beta).
I'm also offering an overclocking enabled ME firmware that should (hopefully) allow overclocking on the HM87 equipped notebooks. All necessary instructions are in the included "Command.txt" file.
There are two flavours of this notebook available: Ones that use the HM87 chipset and others that use the HM86 chipset. The OC ME is only useful with HM87 as HM86 isn't capable of overcloking (tested it myself).
Additionally I offer a collection of Bios, EC, ME and FD files of this device, in case anyone wants to experiment with these for a bit (EC Modding, etc.).
I will update this bios in case there are newer parts available.

Any feedback is welcome!

Features:
-Advanced Bios Options unlocked (Advanced, Power tabs and additional options in the existing tabs)
-Nvidia 840M/940M VBioses replaced with adapted 940MX VBios with unlocked TDP Limit, unlocked Boost Table and some OC (1306,5MHz GPU/1070MHz Memory - with general usability in mind)
-Intel Management Engine: Updated to 9.1.37.1002 + All Locks Unlocked + PAVP (Protected Audio/Video Path) Enabled
-Flash Descriptor unlocked
-Microcode updated to version 21 (respectively downgraded to 07 and 01)
-Intel GOP Driver updated to 5.5.1033
-Intel VGA Bios updated to 1042
-Intel RST OROMs updated to 15.1.0.2545
-Realtek Lan OROMs updated to 2.037/2.64

Flash procedure:
1. Copy the BIOS file to an empty and with FAT16/32 formatted usb stick.
2. Unplug the AC adapter.
3. Remove the battery of the notebook - you can unlock the battery on the backside.
4. Plug in the USB flash disk.
5. Press and hold <Fn> and <Esc>, and then plug in the AC adapter while still holding <Fn> and <Esc>.
6. Press the Power button. You can now stop holding <Fn> and <Esc>.
7. The BIOS flash should now begin, the fans will spin up at max speed and the power led should blink. It should take between one to two minutes.
8. After everything is done, you can reinsert the battery and go to the BIOS (F2). There you may want to change some settings (the BIOS flash erases all previously chosen settings).

I have the full bios dumped and a couple of other files that may be needed like a RWEverything report, I can easily offer these up, but can anything be done for this computer to make it more functional, the BIOS options seem horrifically limited.

[REQUEST] HP Compaq nc6220 wifi card whitelist removal.

Hello there,
I need some help on how to remove the whitelist on my laptop, I've recently been given a hp compaq nc6220 and I started to upgrade it. However, I hit a roadblock when i tried booting with the new 3rd party wireless card that I bought. The computer gave me error 104, after doing some research I found that some companies add 'whitelist' into the BIOSes of their computers making them harder to upgrade, Does anyone have a method on how to remove this or flash a modded bios.
Thanks.

Hello everyone. I have a HP ENVY TouchSmart 17-j023cl Notebook PC with bios version F.68 Rev.A , file name sp76843 Was wondering if anyone has dealt with this bios or could help remove the white list. The best card I can out in it right now is a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11ac 1×1 WiFi BT 4.0 Combo Adapter and I want to add a 7260 or a 8260. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello all,

I need the WLAN white list removed so I can replace the slow WiFi card in my Lenovo E535 with a new Intel AC 7260.

I searched the repository and could not find anything for the E535.

I have searched and searched and cannot find a virus/malware free copy of Bios backup toolkit or Backup tools.  If someone will provide a clean I'll run and post output for modification.

  Many Thanks!

Hello there,

Sorry this has to be my 1st post but I know this website has become the 1 stop place for BIOS mods and looking around with the search feature I noticed someone had released and then deleted a fully unlocked BIOS for the K53E.

I Dont really honestly trust myself with editing a bios yet for this machine so I would like to ask if anyone else could put together an unlocked bios (as unlocked as possible at least)

I really want to gain control of a few areas of my laptop such as the ability to disable turbo boost to save heat and battery life.

Here is a link to the latest BIOS for the laptop: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/K53E...1473233217

A huge thanks in advance if anyone has the spare few mins to assist me!

Hello Bios Mods Forum!

I have spent the last day trying to get my trusty old Dell D530 to run a T9500, it is not on the supported CPU's list but I thought it would be fun, I have a lot of these laptops and they fit my needs perfectly. I've never edited a bios in my life, but I do a lot of hex editing to unlock airbag units for cars and immobiliser data etc.

So far I have worked out how to extract the bios rom file from the Dell exe's, in hdr format with the header.
Worked out how to swap one of the microcode entries to match my T9500.
Worked out how to modify the checksum to be correct.
Got updating the bios via dellbiosupdate in linux sorted.
I can make the self installing windows EXE with DCCU.

But it won't boot Sad
It does nothing, just powers up and HDD activity light flashes in 2 pulses quickly.

I've had the cpu in and out of a couple of D530's, with various alterations to the microcode. 1 dimm fitted, front or back, battery in/out, hdd etc.

Here is a CPUz of my mainboard:-

My bios files look like this with intelmicrocodelist.exe :-

Here are the selection of standard and modified bios files, and the injected microcode :-

.zip   dell d530 bios microcode.zip (Size: 1.59 MB / Downloads: 2)

And these are the instructions for resolving the checksum for the bios :-

Code:
Select block 54 to 200053 and calculate crc32 checksum of it.
Apply NOT to the crc32 checksum, then reverse the order of bytes, e.g. 01 02 03 04 = 04 03 02 01
This reverse order checksum is stored here:- 200054-200057
Now select 54 to 200057, and calculate crc32. If correct checksum, crc32 = ffffffff.
Also crc32 of the whole file = ffffffff.

My CPU is stamped on the front:-

Intel '06
5808B317  SLAYX
FF80576 T9500
2.60 / 6M / 800

(I think this is a cpuid=10676)

My mainboard chipset is a GM965 which is noted to support the T9500 cpu.

Both CPU's have the same FSB, TDP, and pretty much the same spec otherwise except:-

the old 65nm Mermon runs 1.075V-1.250V
the new 45nm Penryn runs 1.000V-1.250V

My RAM is PC2-5300S-555-12-E3 so that only runs at 166.6mhz - could this be a problem? I don't think so but I'm no expert.

Dell bios's are a pain I'm getting the impression....
But can anybody help me push this any further towards success  Huh Huh Huh
