Hi all,

I'm using a Lenovo x240 which embeds a barely working rtl8192ee wifi card. Since I just installed an AC network at home I'd like to switch card and bought an Intel 7265.

Of course I can't get past the BIOS screen as the IDs (8086:095B / 8086:5210) are not part of the list. I've tried updating the BIOS to the latest version but it didn't help, at least I got the FL1/FL2 files from the update ISO.

But looking online and reading this (almost similar) thread:

I've realized it wouldn't that easy to change the BIOS.

Since I'm running Linux, not many tools seem to be adapted, so I went ahead and remove the W25Q128FV chip from the motherboard and did a backup copy of the current BIOS.

My questions:
- Now that I have a flash dump + FL1/FL2 files, what are the next steps to add my IDs (at least) or remove the check completely?
- Are there any Linux tools to do so?
- Are those (Windows) tutorials adapted for the x240 BIOS?

Hi all,

I've seen other requests like this, but the bios tools they are linked to are no longer available or restricted. 

I'd love some help getting this thing unlocked and whitelist removed. The wifi card it ships with is trash for range.

the link have the extracted bios wich im not sure was properly done it, and the oficial bios.exe. the extracte is version v1.25, the latest in the site is v1.21, so if the one i extracted is ok, thats the one i need. since the updater wont let me downgrade by double clicking in the exe, so idk if a downgrade can brick it.

I have a lenovo E330 with the broadcom wifi chip. It has terrible Linux support. Anyways been reading here for a few days and I am confused at what software I need to use to backup a copy of my BIOS to be able to send to post here. I looked for fpt backup and can't find it for the life of me. Which one do you prefer me to use? Any help appreciated I know you are busy with school/work. Willing to donate for sure.

I have been trying to locate some software to aid me in at the least seeing what is capable in this bios. Problem is, the only bios file i can find for this is one i've managed to find from dell.com

I started the update application and it saves it's files in the temp folder, but the bios file is in the .bin format, not .rom as i should be.
(Yes, this is 100% an AMI bios)

If anyone can at least point me to what i need to do to possibly convert, or at least open the file. I would appreciate the help.

I have included the installer file, if you want the files i "extracted" or the method i used, feel free to ask.

Welcome everybody.
I modify official BIOS from Dell for Dell D620 (Intel VGA) A10.

Uninstall any previous loaders etc.
Download from link:

Close other Apps and flash from Windows.
After flashing add (insert) key from ex. Extreme Loader -> Option Certificate. -> Choose proper version of Windows and click Install.

Tested by me yesterday and working 100%

Hello !

I need the original stock Bios for Y580 in Version 8.0

But i cant find it on Lenovos Site or at other pages without any kind of mods. 
Can Someone provide me this Bios ? (At lenovos website i just can find 5dcn40ww)

I flashed a wrong one, laptop was broken. I send it to an electronic guy (bios-chip24.com) wich replaced my Bios Chips 
and flashed them new. But its not the same Bios/EC Version and now i cant even select the bootoptions without 
freezing the bios. 
(I think thats the reason: wrong Bios/EC Version - what do you think ?)

Now i got: 

Bios Version: 5DCN90WW(v8.01)
EC Version: 5DEC89WW (v8.00)

That means i need 
5DCN90WW (Bios+EC) 
or 
5DEC89WW (Bios+EC)

Please help me, i need to sell this laptop to pay my taxes

I start apologizing for my english, isn't the best.
Those days I tried to unlock my hidden setting and the other hidden tabs in my bios looking at the Donovan600's tutorials, but I don't know why eveything is the same like before, and i flashed 3-4 time the bios but nothing, I'm not very good on these type of modding...
First time i ì wanted to unlock the bios to enable my intel video card,but how I say before, nothing worked, next i wanted to modify my vbios (gt 525m)to change my underclocked gpu to the stock clocks..
Please, I need some help...

Hi,  I have been given a Packard Bell PC model MS7301 (Cuba) with 1Mb Ram, according to ram checkers I should be able to use 2GB DDR2 667 Mhz PC2-530 PC2-5400 RAM.  However the BIOS doesn't recognize the new ram and reports the old (1Mb). Could the BIOS be unlocked to accept the new RAM.  I have attached a copy of the BIOS.

Hi

Could I have a whitelist removal bios for my T410s ?

-Manufacturer: Lenovo
-Model: Thinkpad T410s - 2904-G2U
-Latest Bios Revision: 6UUJ20US 1.50
-Actual Bios 1.35 6IET75WW

Previous WWAN card was an Intel 6200, new one is an Intel 6250 ... I really don't get it, since the 6250 is listed as an FRU for this machine. Also, I added a Gobi2000, but I don't know if that matters.
If anyone could help me out, I'd be very glad.
