[REQUEST] Teclast X98 Plus Aptio Bios Unlock

Hi, I'm trying to unlock all options in the AMI Aptio Bios on my Intel Cherry Trail tablet because the ram frequency is set to 1066 instead 1600mhz.

I extract the Setup module with MMTool 5.0.0.7 and with IFR extractor I extract it, but from here I do not know how to continue.

I attach the bios file and the .txt of setup module

Can anyone help me?

[REQUEST] Acer Aspire V3-772G

Hello there. I've been at this for so many hours and have not actually been doing anything. My problem lies with the bios or uefi settings. I want to enable Intel VT-x, although the 'advanced' tab is not there.

My computers complete model name is: Acer Aspire v3-772G 747a161.01TMaKK
 
Intel core i7-4702MQ 2.2Ghz
NVIDIA Geforce GT 750M
16 GB RAM

Or going to http://www.acer.com/ac/no/NO/content/drivers  then under product model, type "v3-772g" here you locate BIOS/Firmware and the one i'm running is: BIOS v1.15 as of 2014/04/28.

Would anyone be so kind as to guide me though the whole process of enabling VT-x? From downloads - to configs - to 100% finished.

These are my first steps into BIOS modding although i have messed around with Windows(XX) a lot(sometimes editing hex) and i have beginners knowledge in programming (Visual Basic, very little c++ and c#, beginning to learn java)


EDIT: I noticed some of you asking for donations for your work. I'd gladly donate, all i need is a proper fix with proper instructions(could be linked)

[Request] HP 8510W f.20 debacle

I have a HP 8510w. Unfirtunately, it has F.20 on it, which is not downgradable. I have a bin of a de-whitelisted F.15 with SLIC 2.1. Is there any way the notebook can be coaxed into believing this is F.20, or is there a way to transfer these modifications to an F.20 BIOS?

Modded F.15:

Dell Dimension 2400 and VT6421A Bios Mod

Hi all,

I am new to this forum so first I would like to say hello and thank you in advance for any help anyone can give me.

I also hope I am posting in the correct place, I have tried to work out the best place.

Secondly I am attempting to build an HTPC using parts from old PC's. This has gone well, but I have one major stumbling block- my motherboard (from Dell Dimension 2400- Board Details) has no native SATA ports. I have a VIA RAID PCI card (VIA 3 SATA Serial ATA IDE Port PCI Card VT6421A) that I would like to boot from.

The PCI card works fine in Windows, however is not recognised in Boot. This leaves me with using IDE for my operating system, which is not ideal. From what I understand the problem lies in my BIOS, hence coming here for help.

My current BIOS is Dell AO5 (Link).
I also understand that I need to add the VT6421a ROM file to this BIOS (Link).

I have read as much as I can but do not know how to proceed. The Dell BIOS is an .exe and when I use /writeromfile in CMD the file I get cannot be opened in MMTool (which I have no previous experience of using).

So the help I ask is:

a) is what I am trying to achieve even possible?
b) Can someone help me modify this bios?
or
c) Can someone tell me how to modify this bios?

Acer Aspire v5-572p bricked on bios update

I had downloaded the bios update that is on Acer's web site and was installing it through windows.  the machine rebooted after update with a black non responsive screen.  After some reading I extracted the *.exe file version 2.10 from Acer and did not find the *.fd file that it looks like is needed for the recovery process.

I have attempted the recovery process with the files that were extracted from the *.exe file and see activity light on the jump drive flash several times and then be dormant for a bit and then flash several times again.  I let this process continue for 30 to 40 minutes with no change.  I am wondering if it is specifically looking for the *.fd file.  I am not sure where to go from here but to ask for assistance from those who have background in working with bios issues.

Any help would be appreciated,  thanks in advance for the help.

I have a Sony Vaio Flip sfv14n13cxb with insydeh2o bios
Motherboard replaced by Sony under warranty but didn't fix the problem. Sony released a bios update that specifically addressees the issues I have. The problem is that I cannot update the bios. After lots of reading and searching and dumping and editing platform.ini files I have discovered that the upgrade fails because of missing version and serial number strings in the baseboard and chassis sections of the smbios. I discovered a post with a similar problem here.

I would like to know how to write this information into the smbios so I can update it. Also, any information regarding Sony's bios recovery procedure for this machine would be appreciated.

Which laptop would be good for VFM ?

My friend of mine, who is studying in Poland with me, wants to buy a used laptop.
Here in the town we are ,we don't have many good options, and he doesn't have much money.

So, we have pumped into this 2 laptops:

ASUS K55DR with specs:
  • Procesor AMD A8-4500M (4 rdzenie, od 1.90 GHz do 2.80 GHz, 4 MB cache)
  • RAM 8 GB (SO-DIMM DDR3, 1600 MHz)
  • DISK 750 GB SATA 5400 obr.
  • AMD Radeon HD 7470M, + AMD Radeon HD 7640G 1GB 
And the second one is:
Toshiba Satellite L850-11D
cpu :i3-2350M
ram :6GB
disk:640
gpu: 7670 1gb ddr3

The price is almost the same, but he is thinking of getting the first laptop, getting a used ssd in good health and buying from ebay a A10-5750 Socket FS1 (FS1r2) , which can be installed in the specific model in 10 minutes from me , and gain some extra performance.Even though that i will make question after about the BIOS if it supports it.

He wants to play WOW ,and games even in low-resolution or setting,just to get around and having the benefit of work together into the laptop.

I think the first laptop will be the best choice.  Angel

Hi! I have G565 Lenovo book.
On forum already present threads with this model (https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...565--12957 or https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Z...5-36CN25WW), but its only contain whitelist for Wi-Fi adapter.
I install it on my system, now BIOS version: 2.10 (36CN24WW), but unfortunately for me hidden menu not present in this BIOS.
BIOS I took from https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Z...5-36CN25WW.
Also I tried pressing F10 + A, but no effect or I did something wrong.
I will be glad to any response.

Alienware 17 (R5 / mid-2013) BIOS dump

Greetings,

I've got an Alienware 17 here, that turns on, but refuses to POST, and my main suspect right now is the BIOS.

With the original bios, it would turn on, get warm, but not do anything (else) - no backlight, no booting, nothing. I flashed the chip itself (off the mainboard) with a .bin that had been unlocked for someone else ( https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...ienware-17 ).

With that bios, i got what seemed like progress - now, it gave me the 7-beep treatment (which, supposedly, means cpu not detected). Same story with an i3-4000M that i got, for testing.

Now i'm starting to wonder if that .bin had the right contents (size wasn't a problem, the flash chip is like double the size of the .bin).

So, does anyone have a dump for the Alienware 17? Locked or unlocked, i don't care...

I need your help to remove the password of this bios. I'm not able to do it because it askes for password and doesn't let me boot to dos or windows. If I fail 3 times it doesn't give me the code to recover the passowrd, it just shut's down.
