bios dump without windows?

First off, hello everybody. Glad to have found you. 

I need to change DVMT setting in my locked bios and want to this via EFI shell. I do not want to flash or touch my bios. Too scared.

So I need a simple way, to get a copy of my bios.rom file. Without having Windows installed. Unix or Dos I could run via usb.
Flashrom does not work because of laptop. Can anyone help? Ah, well, I am very new to this, so please have patience with me.

Bios Info according to aptio setup utility:AMI, Project Version 7.02 x64, VBios Version 1032, EC Version 230000F08, ME FW Version 10.0.45.1022
Vendor is Medion. Does not provide a Bios for download.

I just found the following command for afudos.(afudos mybios.rom /O). I guess, that could to exactly what I need?

My Question : How do I find the name of mybios.rom and where does the command save the file to (USB where I have Dos running?)

Hey.

I've got a HP notebook and want to flash my BIOS.
(It turns off after 30 minutes. I except something in ahci- oder power-settings)
I tried to unlock it myself, but it didn't work.

Model: HP ENVY dv6 7202eg

I've seen that was done before but all links are dead and I don't expect someone still keeps binaries somewhere.

I can't figure out how to overwrite SLIC v1 by SLIC v2.1 (or split and extract BIOS only) because not touched BIOS is unavailable. 
For some reason BIOS modified by me doesn't work (even if notebook is still alive after flashing, but windows was dead after that)

Help! Failed BIOS update

Hi

This evening I attempted to update the BIOS on my Dell Vostro 3500 using the latest version of the BIOS from the Dell support website. I did this because Windows keeps reminding me that I ought to be updating to Windows 10, and I read that attempting this without updating the BIOS to the latest version could cause problems. I now realise that this was a daft thing to do as the BIOS installed on the laptop was version A01 and the latest was A12. I guess a lot has happened in between times! The instructions said to just download the file and let it run, which it did.... right upto 56% complete where the machine froze and wouldn't respond to anything. I had to remove the battery in the end to power it off. Now when I power it on the fan comes on but nothing else.

Does anyone know of a way to recover from this?

Thanks again to BDMaster.  The guy is a wizard!
This bios mod has been verified to install in a dell 760 with a slic 2.0 table, and upgrades it to a 2.1 so a dell specific windows 7 restore disk should
activate automatically.

This is a confirmed working bios mod for dell 760's that have a 2.0 table in it.

BDMaster did it again!  Thanks so much.

Now there exists bios mods for the Dell 745, 755 and now the 760

Hello,

I wanna change or remove the Splash Screen on my Dell E4300. I got it from my work and the splash screen is very ugly.
I've tested :
- Bios flash ;
- Dell Portables POST Bitmap Update Program ;
- Clear CMOS/NVRAM by removing coin cell;

No one worked.

Maybe i'm doing something wrong, i need some help (i'm not very very good at computer ^^)

Cq60-211dx alter memory frequency.

Hello, i'm wondering if it is possible to mod the unlocked bios to force the memory bus speed to 800mhz. I have 800mhz memory and noticed using efi rfi dumper that there are two defined settings for memory frequency, auto which has a value of 0x0 and 667mhz with a value of 0x2, however below that it has a suppress field that shows to suppress if the value is 0x1, 0x3 or 0x4. If i can force the value 0x4 would this make the memory run at 800mhz? The gl40 chipset is capable of this, also would it be possible to create an additional menu option under the system memory frequency menu to make the 800mhz user selectable? Either way, if there is a way to set this setting to another value to force the 800mhz fsb i will be happy. I know i'm losing performance because the memory is not running at full speed. the chipset certainly supports it, i'm just trying to figure out how to instruct it to do so. Any help will be appreciated.

Question about A215-s4747 slic

Does the modded bios allow for higher supported memory or better supported cpu? Or only allow more bios options such as overclocking and adjusting gpu shared memory and such. I have an a215-s4747 I'd like to tinker with but no where on the modded bios thread does it actually say what the modded bios added features are... The laptop factory max supported ram is on 2 2gb ddr2 I'd like to have at least 2 4gb sticks considering it supports a x64 cpu. I also found quite a few much better processors that were the same socket but I doubt they are supported... Curious if any of that is unlocked as well...
