Hello guys.

I have a K9N Platinum SLI motherboard (ms-7250 ver. 1.0), and decided to add AM2+ CPU support.
I found a donor bios and extracted a patch from it.
Here is a picture of the extracted patch.

I extracted patch to my bios and flashed it.
Bios update was successful, but cpu is still not supported.
When i install am2+ cpu, i get a blank screen and system is stucked.
I don't know what else to do.

Donor motherboard: http://www.asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/ALiveN570SLI-eSATA2/
My motherboard: http://www.msi.com/product/mb/K9N_SLI_Platinum.html#hero-overview

I hope somebody gives me a hint. Sad
Thanks.

Unfortunatelly, the download link is no more active. Maybe somebady have a copy of this file?

Sovem, could you upload it once again? If you could help me I promise to send you some tasty polish beers directly to Hanoi Smile .

Bios for Lenovo s206 needed

Hello,

i´m new here and not really sure if i post this in the right forum.

Anyway, as i said, i´m in need of a bios file for a Lenovo s206 Model 2638.

This Notebook has a black screen and reballing the chips didn´t work, so i guess it could be an bios related issue.

Unfortunately Lenovo doesn´t provide a bios update for this model and is also not willing to provide me with the original bios.

Instead they suggest to buy a new mainboard from their webshop for a rediculously high price, probably even more expensive than the notebook was when it was new. Angry

Of course i know that the chips could be defective too, but before i order a new chip, i want to try to reprogramm the bios.
I have a external programmer, so the programming itself isn´t a problem, i only can´t find the needed file.

Maybe someone here has a working Lenovo s206 available and could help me out.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks a lot in advance, Harald.

[REQUEST] Enabling overclocking on gtx 760m v3-772g

Hello,

I have a strange problem on Acer Aspire v3-772g with GTX 760m gpu, insyde v1.15 bios and Nvidia drivers 350.12. It's unable to overclock the gpu properly, when i try to do it with Afterburner or similar apps, when i set memory clock to any non-stock value and hit apply button, it resets back to zero. However, core clock works fine, gpu-z shows it has changed. I've tried everything and as far as i know, gpu's vbios is connected to the main laptop bios and it (or Nvidia Optimus or drivers) doesn't let me change memory clock. Maybe somebody could unlock full overclocking on this laptop? I'm installing second fan and it will be more juice for overclocking. I cant sleep at night without this Big Grin

I will be very thankfull for any help.

[REQUEST] HP 2170p Elitebook - WWAN whitelist Removal

Hi,

I'm trying to unlock/hack my original BIOS for HP Elitebook 2170p - F.61 (latest up-to-date BIOS version).

Link of BIOS: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=5245428&swItemId=ob_147292_1&swEnvOid=4158

The issue is that, from my understanding, that the PCI Port is disabled at boot-up saying 'WIRELESS MODULE IS NOT SUPPORTED' - Error Code 702.
I heard that BIOS from HP are encrypted so that I cannot use Andy's tool to hack it and change the Hex settings...

I don't know how I manage that, but once I manage to boot without the screen splash of HP saying 'Device has been disabled' and I saw my WWAN UN2430 card installed.
But it was only one time luck, after that no chance! No HP Connection Manager to install for me since I'm running Windows 8.1 x64

Thank you for your insight and help!
And shame on HP policy...
Cheers Smile

HP G7-2430dx on F.27 AHCI Help Please....

I'm sorry if this is a repeat or a common post, but I'm legally blind and the screen reader software I have doesn't pick up a majority of the things on this site. It took me three days to get past the CAPCHYA to register and another hour or so to find the new post button. I've been trying to figure out how in the heck to enable AHCI on my HP G7-2340dx notebook for almost a month now.
I just need some direction on this and can't seem to find out a few things.
1. In the BIOS it has the option to "Support Legacy", in my case I'm running in UEFI on a GPT partition, so am I needing to change the BIOS or the UEFI - is there a difference at this point?
2. Could I just grab a non-HP F.27 direct from Insyde and do a BIOS recovery to be able to turn on AHCI?
3. Is there already an unlocked F.27 or comparable BIOS I can use? I've looked on the repositories but didn't see mine so I'm assuming I'm S.O.L. on that one but you never know if you never ask...
4. Would anyone on here with obviously way more experience than me be interested in helping me out for their own web repository? I have an OwnCloud with unlimited disk space soooooo I can give someone their own private repo that will work like Dropbx or OneDrive but cost $0 for unimmitted space until I die - which is a looooooong time from now LoL... If interested just PM me on that one.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated - oh and if anyone would like some help making this site more accessible for blind and low vision folks email or PM me. That's actually a thing I do and since you guys set this whole thing up and run it on donations only I'll volunteer to donate my help there!

n00b questions about whitelisting and BIOS unlocks

$

Hey all,

I recently re-purposed my daughter's Lenovo S10-3 netbook (Phoenix BIOS) and was hoping to add some aftermarket card to the PCIe slot. Sadly, I am a complete n00b with regard to BIOS mods so am not sure if what I am looking to do will even work or not and am hoping you folks can shed some light on the situation.

First, I am looking to swap out the standard crappy Atheros AR9285 card for an Intel 7260. I heard a rumor that the mini PCIe was unlocked and that should work...We'll see. Second is the bigger problem. I want to drop in some PCIe card as well...am thinking of maybe an HD decoder to help offload some of the CPU work. My questions are:

1) Can I unlock my PCIe slot to accommodate any aftermarket card or will it be restricted to, say, WWAN cards (or other)?
2) Does anyone know whether or not the Lenovo S10-3 actually locks the mini PCIe slot or if there are other considerations with just dropping in the Intel 7260?
3) When unlocking the BIOS do the hidden menus also light up or would I specifically request that functionality?

For reference I am using this BIOS.

Any info is appreciated.
