Acer aspire X3200

hi all please excuse my first post if i have done anything wrong..

ok i have this X3200 and it was running a AMD duel core cpu i had a Quad core laying around so upgraded the duel to a quad the pc was running fine before the upgrade and booted to windows with a warning message first during the post test that there had been a hardware change but it flicked off to quick to get a good read. windows ran fine no excessive cpu fan spinup at all (cpu was repaisted using MX-4)
then on shut down and reboot i noticed a bios saftey warning and had a shutdown occur then nothing now this pc just gives me 1 longish beep and thats it with the cpu fan spinning not fast i have to say?
i have tried to replace the original cpu to no avail just the same 1 longish beep

now im reading conflicting reports as to weather this motherboard has a phyeonix bios or a award? it has the DAO78L Boxer board in it

so basicly im looking for some inspiration please on this one not had a bios saftey message before is there a fechure for this to stop a corruption happening? any help appreciated on this please

also had a read on both recovery methods but i can even get the latest bios file out of the acer.exe file as zinzip and all the other programs like winrar 7zip bla just keep giving me a error or corruption error

stumped and banging head up against brick wall on this one help please if poss many thanks in advance ed

i have Hp dv7 4301sg Notebook.
I've update my notebook with the F29 Bios from this board with removed wifi and wwan.
When i go in the bios,they are unlocked.
I have buy a new wifi card and install it,when i start the notebook with the new card the notebook find it.

I have buy this wifi card for my notebook.

Can anyone help me why the notebook find the wifi card?

Help on Updating Microcode for Latitude E5500 BIOS

Hello everyone,

-I currently have a Dell Latitude E5500 laptop with me, and I'm intending to change its processor to a Pentium Dual-Core T2330.

-Unfortunately, according to official Dell documentations, it seems that Dell only allowed Core 2 Duo or Celeron (socket P) to be installed into this laptop.

-The laptop has already been updated to the latest A19 BIOS, but it wouldn't boot with this T2330 installed (blinking Caps Lock LED).

-I've never tried updating/adding microcode into the BIOS (just done minor BIOS mods before), so I hope some experts could help me on this.

-1066MHz FSB support is mentioned in official Dell documentations, and it uses Intel GE45 chipset, so this model should support both 65nm Meroms and 45nm Penryns (but artificially/intentionally limited to Core 2 Duo and Celeron brands/range only).

-The A19 BIOS for Latitude E5500:

Need Xeon 771 CPU Microcode in GA-965P-DS3 (Rev 3.3) BIOS

Would like to do the 771->775 mod, and run Xeon Processor in my Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3, rev 3.3 motherboard.

Currently if I install the Xeon CPU, the machine will post, and I can get into the CMOS setup screen...Inside the CMOS setup, it recognizes the Xeon E5440 CPU. But once  I got out of the CMOS setup, it stuck at a black screen with a blinking cursor.

I was told that to make this properly, it is required to inject the Xeon CPU microcodes into the BIOS.

CPU:    Xeon E5440 (C0)  CPUID = 10676h
BIOS:   Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 F15C

Asus p5e3-WS PRO Disable EIST feature unlock

Hi!

I have this motherboard with the latest bios(http://www.asus.com/Commercial_Servers_Workstations/P5E3_WS_Professional/), however, when overclocking is used on the CPU the option to disable the Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology automatically disappears(as is said in the manual).

Which totally sucks for me because I'm suffering from high DPC latency and I've tried just about everything under the sun for it to go away and disabling EIST, according to numerous forums, seems to be one of my final options.

Plus, it's common knowledge that it should be disabled for overclocking, so there.

SLIC 2.1 for Dell Precision T3500 N-series

Hi folks -

Long-time visitor here but this is my first post. Smile

I have a Dell Precision T3500 N-series desktop, which unlike the non-N-series units, does not have SLIC 2.1 enabled in the BIOS. The BIOS file for the N-series is the same as the non-N-series units.

I'm guessing the Dell EXE file knows that the SLIC 2.1 tables should not be present as flashing the BIOS doesn't put the SLIC tables there.

We have an army of regular T3500 units, all which have SLIC 2.1 tables enabled, and had I known what the N-series difference was (they don't ship with Windows and hence do not have SLIC 2.1 tables enabled) I would not have bought it. Sadly now we're stuck with it and I hope to get this resolved with a BIOS mod or some other way.

I tried WinPhlash to backup the BIOS on the regular unit and flash it over the N-series unit but WinPhlash doesn't seem to like the Dell BIOS and throws errors.

Any chance I can get a modded T3500 BIOS that can force-overwrite the N-series BIOS with the SLIC 2.1 tables? Thanks in advance.
