dGPU Mode Problem

Hello! I am using HP Pavillion dm3-1132tx. I managed to unlock my bios's advanced and power settings and also the Display Mode setting under the "System Configuration".

My objective is to disable the Nvidia Hybrid Graphics, disabling the onboard Intel graphics and use only the Nvidia G105M.

So yeah as I said, I managed to unlock my Display Mode and edit to dGPU but my screen backlight doesn't work! It is not switching on and I have to use my own torchlight to see whats on the screen. I checked the Device Manager the Intel graphic is really disabled and only G105M could be found. So yeah I managed to get what I wanted except for the screen backlight problem and so anyone has any idea on how to fix it? Could it be somewhere in Nvidia's VBios requires editing?

Dell GX260 - Hyper-Thread Support SL6PG

I have a later revision GX260 845g rev01 chipset with a SL6PG - Bios CPU Information has no Hyper-Thread option.

AIDA64 says Hyper-Threading Technology - Supported, Disabled.

I'd like to enable this to get a bit more decode performance out of 1080p video.

Hello. I need to disable integrated GPU, so I try to change var: I used phoenixtool and custom parser to unpack bios file, and to find necessary variable ID and available values. I did it. Unfortunately, when i booted from efi grub, and tried to change var, i got error:

So, may be smb know how to fix it? (I tried do it in UEFI and Legacy mode)

Notebook: HP Pavilion 15-n208sr (ENERGY STAR)
BIOS: Insyde20 F.16 ( sp69882.exe )

I have Windows 7 x64, but to see BIOS update on site, choose Windows 8 x64.

Hey,

I'd like to put in any WiFi card in my laptop (HP Pavilion G6-1210sd), especially the Intel AC7260 which also does Bluetooth.
However, the BIOS has a WiFi whitelist.
I know the SP6XXXX.exe bios it is currently on is RSA locked, but the SP5XXXX.exe bioses aren't, and I know they are availible for this laptop. The board ID is 166F, but it uses the 166C file. I have screwed it up in the past, but recovered it, so the recovery drive is already made & working. I only need the whitelist removed, although the advanced tab would be nice. Current bios is SP60864, which is locked, earlier SP5XXXX.exe should work.

Hello guys.

I have this MB (MSI-7327). When i took a look at supported cpu list for it, i noticed the highest wattage on a cpu was 89 Watt.
So does this motherboard only support cpus up to 89 watt? What if i install a 95 watt cpu?

I am so out of date with this moding that I really need help.

Im still working on Gateway 6021GZ laptop. Following instructions here :

I can say this :

1) Yes please, do try to unlock everything there is. Actually I am posting this because I hope someone can fix that BIOS to enable 48 bit LBA. I have 320Gb hdd but it only recognises 128Gb...

Lenovo G505s whitelist removal

Well I didn't see that coming and found my way to this helpful forum.

I bought an Intel AC7260 to replace a dodgy malfunctioning wifi adapter for this laptop and was told it wasn't on Lenovo's nice list. Set of ****ards.

So, can someone please modify the BIOS for this laptop to enable it for this wifi card?

Switching from one BIOS type to another

OK, let me put it this way : I've got OEM board that is identical to ASUS. How do I flash ASUS firmware into it?
Asus is Award, and OEM uses Pheonix BIOS. Tried clean DOS boot and aflash says it can't find BIOS hook...
I know it can be done but just can't get in touch with guy that did it.
