Acer Aspire 5552-3691 Possible BIOS corruption?

Hello, about 2 months ago my old Aspire broke. I would press the power button and it would light up blue and everything would be spinning up for a second or two and then it would all quit. No screen lights, no HDD activity, and the fan was spinning as if it were on idle or a low demand period. After doing some research I tried doing a BIOS flash (or reset I don't know) where I downloaded the BIOS from the acer website and pulled the (newly renamed to) BIOS.df and FLASHIT.exe onto a formatted flash drive, then pulled out the CMOS battery from my laptop and pushed a screwdriver onto the metal things to short them so the BIOS would reset (I think). I then put the RAM and CMOS battery back into the computer and also plugged in the USB. Then I held Fn+Esc while I plugged in the AC adapter and turned it on to find that the fan spun up louder than before and that everything seemed to kick on except there was no HDD activity light that was lit up. Is there something I am doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I just Purchased a new WiFi/bluetooth card (the intel 7260HMWG) for my HP DV6-6117dx. I searched the site for some whitelist removed bios for this laptop and found this thread. I downloaded these bios from the link posted in the thread.

When i installed the card, i got an error message when the computer booted saying the bluetooth module installed is not authorized. It seems like there is a second whitelist for bluetooth devices. Ill take a picture of the exact error message.

This "no whitelist and SLIC 2.1" mod for HP sp48847 which was last official BIOS for this model has been available in the past, but all links to it are broken or bogus. If there is a chance for a new working link, I would appreciate it very much!

Hello, BIOS Masters,

I want to change my BIOS splash screen. It is a picture belowe, am I right:

I was reading on internet about this, and concluded that may be litle bit a dangerous. Cause that, I decision to ask you, gods of the BIOS, how can I change my "Toshiba Leading Innovation" splash screen with some my own custom picture, without possibility for brick laptop???

Technical details:
Brand and model: Toshiba Satellite Pro U400-13K
Model NO: PSU45E-00800CG3
Serial NO: 88205975W
Dual Core 2.26GHz, 2GB RAM, 230GB HDD

I don't know much about all this stuff but does anyone have an unlocked BIOS for my Asus N750JV Notebook Current BIOS N750JV.210). I had an unlocked bios on my Asus K52Jr which was just brilliant but to have one for this high end model would be just superb because currently it has hardly any options or tweaks at all.

Hi,

I would like to unlock the BIOS of my Lenovo G500 laptop in order to change the voltage of the RAM, that is not possible with the current version of the BIOS.

Can someone help me please ? I think that I need to begin with a backup, right? How to do it ?

Bricked HP DV7-4075sf

I used a modded BIOS and have change the "Display Mode" from "Hybrid" to "dGPU" (dicrete GPU) and now my omputer DISPLAY IS GONE
Specs:
HP DV7 4075sf
Board: 144B
6GB RAM DDR3
i3-M350
17,3" 1600x900

Modded Bios I flashed:
sp55299 modded bios which match 100% for my Laptop.
BIOS: InsydeH20 f.29

Help please, I really need this laptop.
I tried recovering it with USB HP_TOOLS but nothing happened

HELP ME PLEASE.

[Request] Mod Bios of HP DV-2174ca to install Mac OSX DJ

Hello there, I'm in need of a InsydeH20 bios mod to reveal the hidden bios of my computer because I want to install Mac Mountain Lion 10.8.5 on my system for some exclusive software which will help me produce some mixes. I'm also in the neighborhood for some stability, and no hassle editing.

I did some research on the HP forums before getting here as I wanted to enable HPET to 64-bit, and run as AHCI.
Unfortunately, HP tells us the runaround by saying there is a 5% difference in performance, which has nothing to do with what I want, and tells us not to play with the BIOS. :/

My computer HP DV-2174ca is a few years old, and it's been kind to me, with its multiple threads, so I now want to use it as a mobile DJ laptop.
I would appreciate any help to mod my bios to reveal the hidden so I could still use this strong computer for a little while longer.

Unlocking the R0070J4 BIOS

This post contains the modified R0070J4 BIOS image.

Initially, a flashable R0070J4 BIOS image did not exist on the internet, so I decided I would create my own (actually, WinPhlash decided that for me, against my will). I created a backup image of my BIOS using Universal BIOS Backup Toolkit v2.0. Then, I applied compatible platform data from an official R0030J4 BIOS update (same notebook series, same chipset). I tested the image and it correctly flashed my VGN-N250E notebook.

A few months later, after creating a thread of this same name requesting a BIOS mod for this BIOS, I learned how to mod the BIOS myself. 2 months succeeding that, I am finally posting this in the Phoenix forum.

I have not personally tested the modified BIOS image yet, but I am making plans to do so some time in the future. The image has been verified though and is safe to flash.

Sometime in the very near future, I am going to release a second version of this BIOS mod. The reason for the delay is that there are some new BIOS modding techniques that I have discovered and I am testing them out with someone else's BIOS image (they are able to recover it if something goes wrong). These methods are safe, but they have not yet been tested. These new techniques will enable me to change the number of items in the Main Menu from 8 to upwards of 40. They will also allow me to make more room for adding new settings. In addition to this, I will gain the ability to unhide settings that are hidden by a special function (they show up in the PBE emulator, but not in the actual BIOS).
