Hi All,
First I have been a long time lurker of this website, I'm fairly certain that the modded bios and hardware hack for my old TX97 motherboard came from here. Many Kudos!
To the point, I have an old laptop kicking around that I want to give a new lease on life to as my pfsense/openwrt router (undecided as to which to use, although the main router and other router configured as an AP both run OpenWRT).
The laptop has a bios package of sp59790.exe which I have included in the post (apparently it's a good thing that it does not start with sp6...).
What I have tried/accomplished so far:
decompressed the package to my computer giving me:
0169BF48.bin
01697F48.bin
01699F48.bin
and stuff...
I tried EZH20, the program refused to open any of the bin files.
UBU also didn't work - face palm, realized that it's a non uefi bios, so of course.
After reading multiple posts/threads learned of the existence of phoenixtool... Eventually found a nice .ru site that had phoenixtool273 and a replacement hewprsa.exe specifically meant for Insyde bioses. Downloaded both and ran phoenixtool273 on the 3 bin files.
According to the documentation I now have 0169BF48.bin, 01697F48.bin, 01699F48.bin files that have been unlocked and had their slic cracked... (side note: with or without the "special" hewprsa.exe phoenixtool completes succesfully and I don't see a difference between the log files)
Conclusion:
Except what I need is the ability to put a mini pcie to pcie adapter in the Wifi card slot (I'd like to use a dual port gigabit NIC with it), so please! could someone remove the hardware white lists from the included bios? So that I can continue with my project or tell me which module(s) to nuke/disable in the bios files?
I know the white lists would currently prevent both the adapter and the NIC from working. So they definitely need to go.
Thank you for your help!
