Hi  I have a Thinkpad 15 G2 ITL that is blacklisted by computrace.   My former employeer charged my payroll for the laptop so I own it now, but the IT department isn't being cooperative about removing it from the blacklist.
Can somebody help me create a modded bios to or point me in the direction of a how to on how I can do it myself to bring this poor  machine back from the dead.

BIOS Version currently F8CN34WW(V1.12)

I can't flash bios - ami aptio

I used AFUWINGUI V.5.15.02.0078 to extract the current bios of the laptop since with previous versions it did not read anything.

Then modify the file with AMIBCP 5.2.0.31 as older versions don't read the rom file. Modify the options I need to enable by default for the user and save the file.

Then I try to flash the file with AFUDOS but it says "46 - error: Problem getting flash information" I have tried earlier versions where the /GAN command can be used and nothing. I have tried to flash from AFUWIN but when I restart the computer what I get is a black screen (it turns on for a moment as if it were going to give an image and then the screen goes off 2 slow beeps 2 fast beeps) so I try to use " Program all Bocks", but I get "43 - Error: Problem erasing flash. Update failed! Please try again. Do not reboot your system until you have successfully updated the system BIOS" when it starts with "Boot Block"

It's an HP Pavilion 15-cw0007la laptop.

manual fan curve ThinkPad L590

Hi Guys,

is there a way to adjust the fan curve on a ThinkPad L590 (20Q7)? In my opinion, the notebook gets way too warm before the fan kicks in. I have the feeling that the CPU is already being throttled here. A look under the heat pipe already showed that only one of the two chips underneath was treated with thermal paste. I have now provided both with the paste, which has already significantly reduced heat! Unfortunately, I don't know whether this was a factory error or whether it was intentional! But back to the topic. How can I permanently adjust the fan curve in the BIOS? Are there possibilities?

Thanks in advance

[Request] ASUS Prime H670-Plus D4 CPU limit unlock

Hello,
I happen to have a Prime H670-Plus D4 mixed with a i7-12700F. The only issue us that the CPU never exceeds 4.1 GHz (while it is supposed to do 4.7 all cores or 4.9 on a single core). After some troubleshooting I noticed the voltage of the CPU never exceeds 1050mV which is not normal since this CPU should run on 1.3V. Problem is that the voltage setting is locked in the BIOS and I don't wanna bother getting a Z690 just to unlock my CPU's full potential. Anyway I don't plan on overclocking, I just want it to run as it is advertised.

Flashing BIOS on Dell Inspiron 14 5447 which currently provides a beep code=1

My DELL Inspiron Laptop does not boot and gives a beep once error code. Since I am suspecting that the Motherboard ( LA-B012P REV 1.0) BIOS has a problem, currently looking at options for BIOS recovery using an external USB drive. When I connect it to the USB port and press END key after connecting power, the fan starts and Laptop Power LED starts flashing and after some time the external USB flash drive gets selected and it becomes ON and I can see the Laptop HDD LED flashing for a moment. I need to now place the required files in the USB flash drive (FAT formatted) to see if the system flashes the BIOS and possibly boot normally. Can someone guide me on the files to be placed in the USB flash drive for this DELL model Laptop. I ran the latest BIOS exe file from the DELL support on another computer but it does not generate any file but gives an error "Invalid WinFlash parameters" with /writehdrfile or /writeromfile options. Please help and guide me on the next steps!

IS THIS WORTH THE TROUBLE? Sony VGN-SZ18GP VAIO PhoenixBIOS R0096N0 full unlock

Since this is my first post on the forum (and this BIOS request is for a really old laptop)...I should tell the story for the background

My current rig is a Toshiba Satellite Pro M30 (~2004) that has seen better days. The GPU (a potato FX Go5200 64M) has problems with VRAM and the screen is cut in half because the LCD is damaged after more than five years of my use from a long hibernation before I received it. The fan and fan controller was dead and is using an external blower for cooling.

Due to fears of the laptop not turning on from a shutdown or restart (when the GPU is initialized) and the screen artifacts and RobustChannels kick in seen when Rivatuner reads 32MB of VRAM (works fine when it reads 16MB...the story of why all this happened must be left for another time) and so had desperately needed a supplemental laptop to help me stay on track...on where I currently am (Philippines) there are no dumpsters that got good stuff to hook me up with and I need the dedicated GPU (cheap laptops on sale contain iGPUs) then money is extremely scarce

A good buddy of mine had this VAIO that never seen use for over eight or so years until we decided to check if it still runs. Gladly it does. Will try to upload pics when I can borrow a phone but it has not been abused and except for the broken keyboard (some keys are dead) and no battery there are no complaints. Now I got it to see if this is worth saving other than reducing e-waste. This laptop seems to be from an official store or from Japan (VAIO Official Warranty as what my fellows also had over there) and is the "premium" model with the carbon fiber chassis and thin screen and the unusual keyboard (no carbon pads!)

So the hardware (i945GM and ICH-7M) does support AHCI which is welcome because I want to run this laptop on Win7 efficiently and a dual boot XP with the proper drivers (currently on XP including the Toshiba where I am typing this from) and other stuff like what would be on a typical desktop board of the time. Then there is the 3.something GB RAM barrier that we are concerned about as well though the chipset datasheet does say it can see all the 4GB of RAM. And maybe even the option to disable shadowing and other bits...would be upgrading the CPU to a T7200 (has a T2400 as stock) and put on two 2GB RAM modules (currently has 512MB...the other 512MB module died) if this does pan out...regardless of outcome this VAIO is two generations better than what I currently use (i855 -> i915 -> i945) and it's dual core!

Hope admins and mods are cool with this...sorry for the long winded text!

Greetings...

Lenovo g570 bios blackscreen

Hello everyone! I ran into a problem and really appreciate your help.
The story is this. I had a chance to flash the BIOS, which I found on the forum to unlock hidden functions. Updated, everything is fine, it started. Then I did something stupid - I went into the video settings. Apparently I switched to a discrete card (a similar topic was already here in 2015). Restarted and got a black screen. That's half the trouble. I also set the admin password, I remember it, but I can’t go anywhere. Blindly pressing the buttons - the result is 0.

What was done - based on the solution in the old topic, I found a USB flash drive, uploaded one BIN file with the firmware there, after renaming it. I disconnected the power adapter, took out the battery, then pressed the Fn + b keys, connected the USB flash drive, turned on the laptop. It turned on, the cooler started spinning at maximum speed, and after 5 minutes the indicator on the flash drive blinked. In the hope that everything will work out, I waited another 15 minutes. Then I turned off the laptop forcibly. Enabled - no result.

After reading more forums, someone wrote that the BIOS is not sewn because of the crooked file name. But no matter how I call it, with 1, with the model name (2219) - everything is the same.
And since this is the only forum that is alive and well, I really hope for your help.

Maybe I'm uploading the file in the wrong way, maybe I'm formatting the USB flash drive (FAT32) in the wrong way.
Because the laptop reacts to keypresses and reads the USB flash drive, I think there are options to revive it.
(CMOS soldered, soldered - there is also no result)

[REQUEST] Sony VAIO VPCW12J1E R1100E1 ICH SATA PATA Control Sub-Menu ahci unlock

Hello, my request is for a Phoenix BIOS R1100E1 (disappeared from the Web but already dumped by me both with SYMCMOS, and WinPhlash, and more, and already hex corrected in order for its size to be exactly 1.051.446 bytes long).
Netbook equipped with a Intel 82801GBM ICH7-M SATA chipset, actually stuck in IDE mode so my brand new SSD is not totally happy.
After extracting the BIOS.WPH with Phoenix BIOS Editor, I see in the "String" window:
ICH SATA PATA Control Sub-Menu
So, my hope is that we can unlock a menu like this example:
Phoenix TrustedCore™ Setup Utility -> Advanced (menu page) -> ICH SATA PATA Control Sub-Menu (with the desired options)
See also https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads...enu.12850/
Feel free to ask me for any data you need, follow below a link to my dumps, and thanks in advance for your help.
My best, Federico
