Serial number wrong after system board replacement

TLDR: I need to change the serial number to be able to work.


My laptop broke and I sent it in for repairs. However, when I got it back a week ago 2 of the programs I work in didn't start. Missing license key.
I contacted the vendor and according to them it could have been caused by corrupt harddisk (I was desperate and was open for any solution). So I swapped out the SSD and installed a clean one and installed Windows 11 and that's when weird things happened.
Windows 11 Setup, after getting internet access, claimed that my computer was enrolled to German company.
This got me thinking. I went into BIOS and Serial number was not the one on the label on the laptop.
I contacted the German company and while they were unable (unwilling?) to verify that they had sent
in a similar laptop for repairs they told me that the model I have is one of the older ones they use.

I contacted the vendor of the software I use again and they told me that they tie the license key to the serial number and some MS number among other things.

So, I contacted the repair shop and while they were unwilling to acknowledge that they had forgotten to
reset serial etc they asked me to send in my laptop so that they could fix it.

My problem is that I have been unable to work for 3 weeks and while my customers are somewhat understanding this kills my business.
I will send it in in two three weeks but I can't do it right now.

Is there a way of changing the serial number on a HP Elite X2 1012 ?
There is no BIOS passwords or anything.

HP Touchsmart 310-1260uk Serial Number Missing after BIOS dump

I need someone to rewrite the Serial Number DMI/ values and such, I can't attach the original  BIOS exe for the 1260uk as there's too many attachments.
and the BIOS dump with the modified splash screen, which i need the serial number to be inserted into. 

There's more than just the serial number missing (chassis no. etc) so i'm hoping someone can help.

I have also attached the stickers on the back of the Computer and on the Bottom, as i've heard these can be used for this. aswell as the text versions.

Because these are all missing, the custom BIOS logo doesnt even appear. even if i try to flash the original BIOS, all the info's gone, hoping someone with more experience in messing around with the AMI bios can do this for me.

Downgrading BIOS on HP Spectre 15?

Hello guys, I want to downgrade the BIOS on my HP Spectre x360 15-df1xxx . Of course HP doesn't allow downgrades, so I have probably to use a hardware flasher. Didn't find any possible way to do it through software. I never did this before and I'm not sure if it is even possible at all. I want to downgreade to F.20 Rev.A or even earlier. I'm not sure yet which version is the best, since I have very bad thermal problems with F.26. Also I would like to undervolt so maybe I have to get an even older BIOS version.

BIOS Vendor: AMI
BIOS Version: F.26
Mainboard: HP 863E
Flash module: ABSOK SOIC8 SOP8 Flash Chip IC CH341A (SB Programmer+SOP8 Clip+Adapter)

If I extract sp131758.exe I get four files: 0863E.bin, 0863E.sig, 0863F.bin, 0863F.sig. I guess I only need the first two files. How do I go from here?  Can you recommend me any guide?

Is this topic still relevant? I have a 945P Neo3 ver2.2 ms7236 motherboard, I added the WolfDale microcode via AMIBCP to get support for the E5200 processor, but the processor only works at x6, 1.2GHz, it is also not possible to overclock the processor in the bios, the problem with overclocking the bios can i fix it somehow? In windows, I can fix the multiplier at the maximum frequency of 2.5ghz through the Throtlestop program, but this is still a crutch, are there other ways to access overclocking in the BIOS?

Hi Can I get help unlocking my BIOS for my Gigabyte AERO 16 XE4?

This one might be a little harder than the AERO 15 KD. It's 12th gen Intel and uses ME16.0 and has Measured/Verified Boot enabled.

I believe my VAR strings for BIOS_LOCK and FPRR are at:
Bios Lock: 0x1C
FPRR: 0x73D

Modify bios frame buffer size to 2 Gb on Lenovo ThinkCentre M715q 2nd Gen

Hello. Is it possible to modify the bios on the Lenovo ThinkCentre M715q 2nd Gen nettop to 2Gb?
The maximum amount of allocated video memory is 512 MB, if you set it automatically, it is allocated 1 gb.
I tried changing the parameters in AMIBCP-5-02 in the UMA Frame Buffer Size section from auto to 2G, but there was no result.
Then one person on one of the forums suggested that from Boot_Shell_AmiSetupWriter line enter the command UEFI amisetupwriter 0x50 0x40 or amisetupwriter 0x50 0x00, then amisetupwriter 0x176 0x40. but the same result was no.

hello what kind of cpus i am looking at to upgrade this laptop for basic use it has a celeron 540 now so i would want to upgrade to 2 core cpu i dont know how to translate what ever mc extractor gave me cause it is even beyond my decently pc skills
