Hi yall,

Been a long time lurker, and have gotten quite a bit of very useful info from here over the years. So it's time for me to return the favor.

I've got an HP Z440 with an E5-1650v3. Since I had a spare AIO laying around, I figured I'd throw it on and try to solve the "overclocking an HP motherboard" puzzle. Obviously the CPU itself is easily overclocked in an aftermarket board. And rumor and anecdotal evidence of *some* ancient bios versions being capable of turning up the wick. Honestly don't have time to try a dozen different bios, and I'd certainly lose my m.2 boot drive support doing that. So no thanks.

Anyways, the solution isn't elegant, it requires keeping the installation file for the version of XTU someone else had posted somewhere as the one they'd used with some success. So I'll list the versions of everything I'm running. And hopefully everyone who picks up this wonderful black bricks of a computer can enjoy ruining the benchmark standings, and their thermal paste much easier now.

HP Z440
Bios version - M60 v02.54
Bios date - 06/12/2020
Windows 10 21H1
Intel XTU 6.0.2.2
Throttlestop 9.4.2

That's it. That's all you need. We'll, and a much better cooling solution. I've got a 110mm radiator on my cooling loop for the CPU, and it keeps it around 42 degrees at 4ghz under full load. But the stock cooler well, wouldn't do that lmao.

So first off. If you have XTU, Uninstall it. And make sure to click Uninstall options and remove all profiles.

Put computer to sleep. This is *the* most important step. Several reasons why this process may not work (other tuning software running when XTU fires up, maybe a different bios? Idk, didn't try any others) but without putting it to sleep, the code intel had HP put in to lock the processors will be active.

Wake computer up.

Install throttlestop. Go in and unlock overclocking, and move the OC thread/core numbers up as much as you want. Doesn't matter, it's controlled in XTU i got bored of clicking around 65. Again, doesnt matter as long as its higher than the speed you want. I went and unlocked all the voltage controls in FIVR too. Don't bother changing anything. Again, only use XTU to make applicable changes.

Once that's done, close throttlestop, make sure it's not in the tray.

Install XTU. And hey presto, all the sliders are active. (Well enough to dial up the juice and have some fun!)

I've ran mine at 4.3 for a bit, using a CPU crypto miner to load it up, and it ran happy as can be. Then I decided it needed a lot more voltage. Which it disagreed strongly with, and froze. Once you reboot, you gotta Uninstall XTU, and reinstall, to get OC control back.

So now it's just sitting happy as can be at 4ghz, mining away on some coin that I'm sure isn't going to exist in a year, for 45 minutes now. When I get some time I'll start fine tuning and do a benchmark I can link to. But for now, a picture of the OC will have to suffice.

Happy free ghz Smile and enjoy melting your once rather expensive xeon processors!

Cheers,

Robin.

Does anyone know how to edit a bios to allow for TPM 2.0 compatibility?
I already modded the bios to allow for NVME boot, but I am a little out of my depth trying to figure out how to ensure my mobo can interact with a TPM 2.0 module.

Is it possible to re-flash or force flash the stock firmware?  The Phoenix SCT flash utility from Lenovo will not flash over the same version.  My laptop will not enter BIOS/UEFI configuration; it works fine otherwise.

Trying to flash Panasonic CF31MK5!

Trying to use clean CF31MK5 “Donor” BIOS ROM file to flash another CF31MK5 with BIOS password.
First tried running Aptio5 under Windows to flash it with the clean BIOS but the option to flash the NVRAM was grayed out.
Then I tried running it under DOS [ afudos CF31MK5 /N ]
It completes 35% and errors out.
ROM ID’s do not match???
/X does not work.
I check both ROM files ID and they match???
What does not match is the GUID:
Is there a way to copy just the GUID: from the password CF31 ROM file and insert it in the donor ROM file???
Is there a way to have it ignore the GUID: and not try to change it???
Any help would be appreciated.

Bios Whitelist remove

Good evening,
I have an old HP Pavilion g6-1231sl

Intel Core i5
MainBoard: 166f
Bus Specs: PCI Express 2.0
Chipset: Sandy Bridge

BIOS: F24
Dates: 07/01/2011

I bought a network card:

model: AR5B22
Qualcomm Atheros Inc.

but at startup the error 702 comes out, this new card is not supported and I think it really depends on the whitelist. I searched everywhere, here too of course, but I couldn't find a solution or a mod to install to remove the whitelist. Is there anyone who can help me please? Thanks in advance to everyone

[request] NEW AERO 16 YE5(i9-12900hk/3080ti 105w) FOR UNLOCK HIDDEN FEATURES

I purchased AERO 16 YE5 this time.It has i9-12900hk (alder lake) and uses 16.0 for FPT.
With FPT 16.0. The DUMP.ROM was created by entering the FPTW.EXE-BIOS-DUMP.ROM command.
This was modified through UEFITOOL 0.28 and IFREXTRACTOR, which was stored as DUMP2.ROM. (For the purpose of releasing the hidden function)FPTW after modification.
I tried to flash EXE-BIOS-F, but it was blocked by error 167 FPRR.
I'm ru.efi and grubshell.
The values of fprr and bioslock were modified using efi.
It was confirmed as 0x73D for FPRR and 0X1C for BIOS LOCK. (I already disabled SCCUREBOOT OPTIONS.)(Check with setup IFR.TXT)
When writing ru.efi, go to the corresponding value, enter 00, and CTRL + W.(When writing ru, writing was done without any problems.)
When using GRUBSHELL.EFI, SETUP_VAR 0x73d 0x0 was used.(I received the phrase can't set variable using efi here.)
This link is the creation of the DUMP.ROM of the notebook using fptw.exe-d biosregmod.bin-bios.(https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pbAuGI5...sp=sharing)
What can I do to FPRR disable? It's only way to do ch341a programmer?
Above all, I wonder what I set wrong.

(Request) Bios unlock MSI GF65 Thin 10SDR i7 10750H (XMP enable?!)

Dear modders,

I'm looking for someone that can unlock my laptops BIOS so it I can make use of XMP for my fast ram that working at standard MHz and timings. I'm quite sure it should support ddr4 speeds up to 2933mhz (the CPU at least) but it won't go faster than 2667 at 19-19-19-43 same as the ram sticks it came with. While my new ram should time (xmp profile) 16-18-18-43 at 2933mhz. But since the CPU doesn't support XMP I'm f**ked. There are no OC options in the BIOS at all!

Anyways long story short. Hoping to pay a programmer that can enable this for me and maybe update Slic, gop and/or Vbios if possible/needed. Intel management firmware is updated.

Hope to hear from u soon with the info/files u need from me! Thanks in advance.

Frank
