I recently found a motherboard that was in my first PC - Gigabyte 945PL-S3 (rev. 1.0) - I know this motherboard doesn't officially suport any Quads, but after checking with at least 3 different Q6600s - it recognized every of them perfectly fine (I mean - it boots with 1.8 GHz clock due to FSB800, but it recognizes them as Q6600), but the BIOS freezes before disk recognition - Patch ID field shows basically 0000, so I assume it's BIOS incompatibility and rather than hardware one.
I use the last BIOS for this mobo - F6.
