Hi,
Trying to unlock Advanced Mode to enable virtualization
I boot from USB as per instructions below found on Acer community web
**********************
1. Download bootx64.efi
http://www.mediafire.com/file/81vegw2aw0...+Shell.rar
2. Create a bootable freedos and copy \EFI\BOOT\bootx64.efi inside.
3. Reboot pc and enter BIOS for disable UEFI Secure Boot
4. Select USB-CD/DVD as first boot option (I only have USB HDD, USB FDD, USB CDROM and boot from USB HDD)
5. Type the following commands when bootx64.efi starts:
(Bios Version: 2.07)
setup_var 0x217 0x01
(Bios Version: 2.09)
setup_var 0x217 0x01
setup_var 0x218 0x01
6. Reboot and it's DONE! Now you have full access to advanced setting in BIOS menu. (in my case i want to enable AMD-v)
**************
I boot from USB and get:
Welcome to GRUB!
Entering rescue mode...
error:file not found
grub rescue>
Am I on a right track? Should i input setup_var 0x217 0x01 as above?
(I am going to update 2.02 bios first to 2.07 or maybe it will work on 2.02?)
Thank you.
