Hi, I'm new. I came through a video on youtube to unlock the Bios of a vn7-572 (g) model, unfortunately I could not complete the step by step. I need help.

"13. Enter setup_var 0x258 0x1 in command line"

but i get error: can't set variable using efi (error: 0x000000000000008)

What does it mean:

Hello, i bouight a modded ES of i7-8750H from aliexpress to work over the LGA1151 motherboards with modded bios - link to a CPU i am talking about: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/40012017....subject_3


Following the guides, i was given a "modded bios" by the seller, but sadly - motherboards simply cannot post like any motherboard that does not support this kind of a CPU - i think they might just gave me the original F14c from the gigabyte site :/

Is there a chance for someone of you to make such a modded BIOS to support that cpu?

Hello, I just joined I would like to congradulate you guys for the excelente ideia and this forum is actually my hope of making this board usefull.
I upgraded to a decent B550 so I have this laying around. I would like to pair it with a cheap Ryzen 1200 to make an HTCP , but somehow this MB's only support Ryzen 3500/3600/3700, can anyone add microcode to the BIOS?

Do you need the BIOS file? From what I see online some ppl suffering from similar BIOS limitations on these PC's.

So I've got a System76 Oryx Pro 8. It's exactly the same model as the Clevo PC50HS/Sagar NP8753S. It's got coreboot installed as a bios. Here are It's tech specs

It came with a Insydeh20 Bios originally intact here is the sticker that's on my model and the exact model number under the ram stick.

I'v been looking at the Lenovo P70 Workstation laptop for a while now, since it has both "legacy" and new hardware builtin. like dual nvme m.2's, thunderbolt 3, but also ExpressCard and MXM graphics.
Im especially interested in the MXM slot for upgrading the graphics card and turning it into a capable VR laptop and video workstation for my studies and hobbyies.
i don't have the laptop yet hence why I'm asking here, but as far as I know its using a Phoenix bios and may even share it with the ThinkPad P50.

Hello. This old P4 motherboard is a solid performer as is for what I'm using it for, but this would be nice if possible. It officially only supports 400 MHz FSB CPUs, but it will work with 533 ones. When you run a 400 MHz FSB CPU, you can set the memory for 166 MHz (100/166) but when you run a 533 it only allows you to use 133/133, which narrows the performance improvement of the 533 bus CPU over the 400 one. I tried the BIOS for the P4S5A, which is a nearly identical motherboard and the board will work with it and allow you to set the FSB/memory to 133/166, but there is a hardware difference which prevents it from recognizing the CPU; on every power up, you have to enter CMOS and manually set the multiplier and FSB.

I tried using AMIBCP, but I wasn't able to change this setting, so after that I'm out of my depth. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
