Hiya,

I recently took the plunge and added slic to my first bios on an Asrock P67 Pro.

It all seemed to go smooth bu when restarting my PC it blue screened and crasheed when loading. I paniced a lil but it was posting, so a re-install of Windows did solve the issue.

I have since also done my Sony Vaio SVS15 which worked without a hitch and Windows worked fine afterwards.

Just curious is this a normal occurence and is there an easy fix or solution for Windows if it happens ?

Hi,

I have recently purchased a Lenovo Z70-80 and did attempt to unlock this myself (way over my head). I have seen that in other posts you were able to complete this.

Are you able to give this a go?

Hello!
First of all, I'm new to the forums so I'm sorry if i break any rules about posting. Also, english is not my first language, sorry for grammar mistakes.

So, i just got a "new" laptop with an Ivy Bridge core i5 3210m and Intel HD Graphics 4000 but it's performance for gaming and video editing is a little bit under what i expected and as my laptop usually runs very cool I would like to try some overclocking. I've downloaded Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, but unlike my Haswell desktop all the options and sliders are grayed out, so i'm assuming the BIOS is locked because i've sucessfully performed overclocks in another models with intel HD Graphics.

Searching the web i found that this is the best place to look for custom BIOS, but unfortunately i couldn't find my model anywhere, so i would like to ask for some help on the subject, since i don't even know if its possible to overclock this model.

I have a Dell Inspiron Mini 1011. Would someone be so kind as to unlock all the hidden features/menus? I am especially interested in AHCI and increasing the amount of video ram. As far as the AHCI controller goes, I can use setpci -s 00:1f.2 90.b=40 to set the field at offset 90h to 40h which gets it to switch from legacy IDE, so I know it is there and and can be enabled.

Firstly hello all.

could any one shine some light how to re flash the bios back to an older version on acer e1-571 running factory windoz 8.

foolishly flashed the bios with latest version as suggested on the acer site when checking for better vga drivers.

the previous bios version was 2.07 , current version 2.21

would like to flash back to ver 2.07 , why o why ..did i flash 2.21.

now the strange thing is that the 2 different bios version show different graphic memory in bios.
on bios version 2.07 the intel hd 4000 on board graphics showed 128mb ram
on bios version 2.21 the intel hd 4000 on board graphics shows 64 mb ram

when used on the only video game played,the system would run on lowest settings just, bios ver2.07, now on bios ver2.21 the system suffers from major frame drop and lags massively, nothing else has been changed except the bios version


ok ok i know,,, silly fool.


tried to reflash back to 2.07 using Q5WV1207.exe / InsydeFlash.exe, get error " bios version compare error "
acer forum is just , well useless...

spent the last 5 days or so reading here and some Russian site using translator. now have brain lock.. is it the end.

so please can any one help me out...

what about using one of the unlock bios mods here for the acer e1-571, will it cause any issues with the windoz 8 validation thingy, some user have reported good results and others have ended up with a paper weight.


downloaded QWV1221_MN_UNLCK , all ready on usb stick,,will it brick the computer, its primary function is invoicing and emails for work.

should i just call it a day & leave as is, its either imposable or some one knows a way.

any help , insight , pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for some help in removing the whitelist for a HP EliteBook 850 G1 for WWAN.

BIOS is used in all L71 Family ROMS, which includes:

HP EliteBook 840 G1 Notebook PC
HP ZBook 14 Mobile Workstation
HP EliteBook 740 G1 Notebook PC
HP EliteBook 850 G1 Notebook PC
HP EliteBook 750 G1 Notebook PC
HP EliteBook 820 G1 Notebook PC
HP EliteBook 720 G1 Notebook PC

Not sure if RSA signed, Andy's Phoenix Tool didn't say decrypted but folder contained other files with RSA in the filename.

Module is a Huawei MU736 3G+GPS, I'm not sure on the PCI ID as I can't find it anywhere.
EDIT: I found it - VID=12D1 PID=1570

What is interesting, is that with the module installed, I get the 703 error (unsupported WWAN), but here
( http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_139074_1 ) it states under release notes that the EliteBook 850 G1 and the Huawei MU736 are both supported...

Attached image is one I found on here, but is the exact same message I get with the module installed.

Please help me out! I hope I've provided all the information needed.

i noticed that the mcp61sm-am apparently doesn't have that problem :

doesn't say it has that limitation, also loock under "Add-ons / Accessories" see the 2GB ram ?
the only difference i can physical diffrence from board to board is the number of sata ports (2 for the SM, 4 for the PM)

don't care to loose the two extra sata ports, only need one.

an other reference says that AM is an suffixe for gateway MBs so then could it be flashed with a MCM61PM-HM bios, if yes wich ? (nettle, nettle 2, or nettle 3)

I know there are more in depth changes from PM-AM to PM-HM (once had an nettle2 but fried it, long story) but even if i loose some hardwear i don't care even if i must reinstal windows. all i need is ram, then extended cpu support
if possible and STILL HAVE USB, SATA, AND GRAPHIC CARD (not the integrated one, the one you install).

Dear Mods,

I am using a Lenovo Z570 laptop. It came with a Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11bgn Wireless Network Adapter. It became faulty and I replaced it with a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160.

The bios came with the laptop: Pheonix securecore Tiano Version: 45CN38WW

Before installing the new card I applied the bios version: 45CN38WW_NWL_ByCamiloml

It worked fine for a day. After that it causes random freeze or lock ups. If I disable the new Wi-Fi adapter in the device manager the system runs fine.

As my Broadcom was faulty I am unable to find it's device id. But assuming that it would be the same for all models, I find this from another member's post.

Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11bgn Wireless Network Adapter

And for the new card I have two device id's listed in the device manager.

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160

In case if needed this is the id for Bluetooth Intel Wireless

Because some forums they suggested this also can cause the problems.

Current System: Lenovo T400 6475BU6
Current BIOS: 7UET93WW (3.23) 12/15/2011

Current WiFi card: Intel ® WiFi Link 5100 AGN
Card to intstall: Anatel ATH-AR5b93

Current OS: win 8.1 64-bit, Hackintosh 10.9.5

Hackintosh doesn't support the Intel Wifi card. I try replace with AR5B93 but when I boot the system notice "1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and ... ".

Please help me remove wifi whitelist.
